Virtual Consult

Small skin and recovery problems become bigger ones when ignored, and a virtual consult is a chance to ask about them early: the warning signs after a procedure, scar care and when to call the surgeon. Use the time before any consult to prepare.

Prepare before any consult

It helps to arrive at a consult with specifics. Photos of what bothers you, a list of medicines you take and a list of questions are a good start. Questions worth bringing:

  • Which early signs do you want me to report after surgery, and how soon?
  • How do you want scars cared for?
  • Who do I call if something changes, and when is that number answered?

If your interest is in the nose or cheeks, these pages may help: what was learned after 5,000 nonsurgical rhinoplasties, an article on the ideal patient for nonsurgical rhinoplasty and a page on cheek augmentation. Read them for ideas about what to ask.

Reaching a surgeon about your recovery

For your own recovery, call your surgeon's office on the number they gave you. The neck lift, lip lift, buccal fat removal and recovery guides cover what to look for and when to call.

Outside the clinic

If you want something unrelated to medicine, there is a newspaper guide to Eastside attractions.

Everything above is general information, not medical advice.
